Catholic Daughters of the Americas
From its inception in 1903, Catholic Daughters of the Americas has grown and developed into the largest organization of Catholic women in the Americas. Under the patronage of the Blessed Mother, its members are united by their faith in Jesus Christ and their devotion to the Church and the Holy See. Our local Court Washington #1651 was established on September 20, 1953.
The purpose of the organization is to participate in the religious, charitable and educational Apostolates of the Church. CDA engages in creative and spiritual programs, which provide its members with the opportunity to develop their special God-given talents in a meaningful way to positively influence the welfare of the Church and all peoples throughout the world.
Any Catholic Lay or religious woman, 18 years of age or older, who support the church and desires to participate in social and charitable activities shall be eligible and entitled to membership.
We meet in the JFK School Cafeteria on the 1st Tuesday of each month, except December, January and February. Each meeting begins with the recitation of the Rosary at 6:45 pm.
Our Court is involved in several projects which include the education contest for JFK and Religious Education students, lunches prepared once a month for workers for Habitat for Humanity, participation in the JFK school festival, donations to Saint Vincent de Paul, Mustard Seed Communities and the Knights of Columbus Ultra Sound Project.
